What type of fees could be applied?
Policy Fee:
The policy fee is a standard charge that is included in the premium. This fee covers the costs associated with the administration of the policy, including processing paperwork, maintaining records, and providing customer support. The policy fee may vary by state. Additionally, the policy fee is non-refundable as it covers the costs associated with setting up and managing the policy.
Credit card convenience Fee:
When paying with a credit card, a convenience fee of 2.9% will apply in some states, pending local regulations. This fee covers the cost we incur from credit card companies. You can avoid this fee by paying with a different payment method, such as ACH.
Installment Fee:
By including an installment fee, we are able to provide you with the flexibility to pay your premium over time, rather than requiring full payment upfront. It's important to note that the installment fee is non-refundable, and you can avoid paying this fee altogether by choosing to pay your premium in full instead of using a payment plan.
Short Rate Cancellation Fee:
A 10% short rate cancellation fee is applied when a policyholder opts to cancel their insurance policy before its scheduled expiration. This fee is calculated based on the remaining unearned premium and is designed to cover administrative costs.
Late Payment Fees (starting Oct 8th 2023):
A late payment fee is a charge applied when a payment is not received within a 5-day grace period from the due date. It's designed to cover administrative costs and encourage timely payments. Avoid it by ensuring your payments are made within this grace period.
Reinstatement Fee (starting Oct 8th 2023):
A reinstatement fee is a charge incurred when reinstating a policy. This fee helps cover administrative and processing costs associated with reinstating the policy. To avoid it, promptly settle any outstanding item like payment, inspection and application signature.
